With its 3 km of fine sand, the Hendaye beach is the most spacious and safest on the Basque Coast. Because its gentle slope makes it easy to swim, makes it a very popular place for families. Its waves will allow beginners and experienced surfers alike to enjoy the joys of sliding.
Hendaye is also the starting point for sports or family outings : GR10 until Olhette, coastal path until Saint Jean-de-Luz, chemin de la Baie de Txingundi. Also discover the Abbadia estate, a protected area to explore on foot, in search of the small animals that inhabit it. Its majestic Château overlooks this vast and magnificent estate with elegance.
Hendaye, it is also a city of festivals and traditions : Throughout the year, the Festival Committee and the Tourist Office work to offer festive events for adults and children. These include, among others, the Fête du Chipiron, the Basque Festival, Treasure Hunts and Children’s Week (during the Easter and All Saints’ School Holidays)
Finally, the city is a gateway to the whole of Inland Basque Country (Ascain, Saint-Pée, Espelette, Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port…), which will allow you to discover its many traditions and picturesque landscapes.
